The ride was silent and painfully awkward, Addison's eyes glued straight ahead on the road, her hands at her side as if she were in a trance.

The radio hummed at a low volume, but Kimberly couldn't make out any familiar lyrics or melodies.

Her apartment was only about six minutes from her brother's, but the drive felt like an eternity, her mind reeling with the possible meanings and ramifications of what was to come, her eyes stealing glances at the gorgeous blonde sitting next to her, a woman she'd never once thought of as a possible mate.

After what felt like ages, Kimberly pulled into her apartment complex and drove into her covered spot and placed her sedan in park. She took a deep breath, turned to face Addison, to urge her to back out from whatever she was planning, to beg her for forgiveness or reprieve.

But as Kimberly turned to face her, Addison quickly unbuckled and absconded out of the vehicle and firmly slammed the door behind.

Kimberly watched as her brother's boyfriend walked from the side of her car to the front bumper, stopping motionless near the license plate as she waited — waited for Kimberly to join her, to take her inside her apartment, to go down on her to prove that she wasn't gay.

Kimberly took another deep breath and continued to stare at Addison through the windshield. As she exhaled in a fruitless attempt to calm her nerves, Addison turned to face her through the glass.

"Are you coming?" she asked plainly, her voice slightly muffled as the soundwaves passed through the vehicle.

Kimberly nodded, her hand trembling as she reached for the handle. She stepped out into the cold night air, her legs wobbly from the intensity of what had just transpired. Addison seemed slightly less domineering, but there was still a strange aura about her, something that didn't quite sit right.

As Kimberly exited the vehicle, Addison extended her hand to her and flashed her a devious grin. "Come on," she stated. "We don't have all night."

Her heart racing, Kimberly took Addison’s hand, the warmth of the blonde’s palm sending a shiver up her spine. It was a strange feeling, one that seemed to resonate with something deep within her, something she hadn’t quite recognized before.

Reluctantly, she led Addison up the pathway toward her apartment, scaling the steps to the second floor to her lonely one-bedroom, their hands never breaking.

As they arrived at the slightly dirty front door of apartment 205, Kimberly dropped Addison's hand and fished into her purse for her keys. Finding them quickly, she pulled them from her black bag with a twisted leather fringe and inserted the key into the slot.

But she didn't turn it. Instead, she turned to face her tormentor, her brother's girlfriend, who stared at her curiously. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Kimberly murmured, hoping to knock some sense into the other woman.

Addison stepped closer, her eyes dark and unyielding. "Oh, Kimberly," she breathed, reaching up to run her hand through the brunette’s hair, the action more possessive than loving.
